Below are som e generalrecom m endations: Slightly drybreadshouldbe toasted on a lowersetting. Veryfreshbreadorwholewheatbreadshouldbe toasted on a slightly darkersetting. Breadswith unevensurfaces, such asEnglish muffins, may require a dakersetting. W hen toasting item swith fruit,such asraisin bread orteacakes,rem ove anyloose fruitbefore toasting (raisinsm ay fallinto the appliance and create a fire hazard). W hentoasting bagels, slice thebagelinto twoequalhalves before toasting. Ifyou are toasting one slice ofbread,setthe browning controlto a lowersetting. The defrost fonction will take longerto toastthansettings 1-6 as the toaster will automatically defrost thebreadbefore toasting. The toasting chamber automatically lifts thetoastand leveronce the toasting cycleiscomplete. BAG EL To toastthebagelon theinsideand warm iton theoutside, use the Bagelbutton. Insert thebagelasshown,withthecutsidesfacing inandpressthelever down tostarttoasting. PresstheBA G EL button. Bagel e Theheating elements will turn on.Yourbagelwill toast onthecutsides and will be warm on theoutside. 9 The toasting chamberautomatically lifts oncetoasting cycleiscomplete.
